‘Mango-Fiesta’

is back

NFCI – National Finishing and Cookery Institute, opening the gates and welcoming you all to join us in a fun-filled summer festival. There will be a whole day of entertainment and lots of exciting surprises. Also, you will get a chance to meet Renowned Chefs. So, join in the fun.

Mango fiesta is a cooking competition in which all the participants have to cook different-different dishes from Mangoes. Student from 15 campuses are participating in this competition which are:

Comeptition’s

Terms and Conditions

  • The participation of every student of all the campuses is mandatory.

  • Every student has to pay Rs.750/- as entry fee of the competition.

  • All the expenses related to Food, stay, transport, and other expenses will be paid by Head Office.

  • No other charges except from the entry fee will be taken from any of the participants.

  • The 2 rounds of the competition will be held at campuses having more than 30 students, i.e., Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Amritsar, Kangra, Mohali, and Varanasi.

  • Only 1 rounds of the competition would be held in rest of the branches, i.e., Barsar, Solan, Maqsudan, Patiala, Lucknow, Chamba, Mandi, Belgaum, Karnal.

Terms for First Round

  • These initial rounds will be held on 15 th June, 2022 to 20 th June, 2022 and the Timing will be 10:30 am to 2:30 pm.

  • All students have to prepare only one dish of their choice using Mango & Mint.

  • Portion size of the dish should be in little Quantity, with the different level of Plating or garnishing.

  • Where Campus has more than 30 students, i.e., Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Amritsar, Kangra, Mohali, and Varanasi - students bring their dishes from home for this round, and the top 10 students will be got selected for the next round, which will be held at your respective Campus in between 16 june to 20 june after the written approval from head office.

  • Where Campus has below 30 students i.e., Barsar, Solan, Maqsudan, Patiala, Lucknow, Chamba, Mandi, Belgaum, Karnal - this round will be the only one in institute premises. The ingredients will be provided by institute side and top 3 students will be selected for Final round in “Pushpa Gujral Science City”.

  • Students must use only white crockery for their presentation.

  • Table cloth should be in Yellow colour.

  • The dish tag must be there, and it will be in any kind of i.e. printed dish Tag, printed Holder etc.

  • Arrange some refreshments for the guest Like- Juices, Sandwiches, Tea or Coffee, Cookies.

  • For the Décor you can use Original Mango leaves & mangoes.

Terms for Final Round

  • The final mega event will be held on 15 th July, 2022 at Pushpa Gujral Science City, Kapurthala, Punjab. And, Timing will be 9 am to onwards.

  • All teams have to prepare a region thaali as per their state or city in which they must prepare –One starter, one main course, one dessert, and one drink.

  • All teams must have brought their own crockery and cutlery for their presentation.

  • Other set-up will be provided by the Head-office.

  • All the ingredients will be given by the Head-office to each team.

  • It is must for all the students to wear Chef Uniform.

what's happening

7:00 AM to 8:00 AM

Morning Breakfast should served in the cafeteria near to the accommodation in Science City. All the students, and volunteers will gather in the cafeteria at given time.

8:00 AM To 8:30 AM

The time after breakfast will be considered as crucial for every participating teams. In this session various rules and policies related to the participation will be discussed.  

8:30 AM TO 9:00 AM

Ingredients for the preapration will be assigned to all in this 30 Minutes, where every team needs to choose ingrediants smartly.

9:00 AM to 11:30 AM

This will be the preparation time for every team. Teams should require to prepare the dishes within the time.

11:30 AM to 12:00 PM

Participants will have very limited time to manage presentation, 

12:00 PM TO 1:00 PM

Judges will taste the food and give marks. Here Judges will judge major aspects of hospitality such as grooming of students, presentation, taste of food, etc.

1:00 PM to 2:00 PM

Lunch will be served in the cafeteria.

2:00 PM to 4:00 PM

Event will resume in the auditorium where major activities will be performed i.e. Lightening the lamp, Guest speeches, Student Performances.

4:00 PM TO 5:00 PM
